Mission Overview[]
Suspecting a trap, Micah asks Arthur to observe an arranged meeting between Dutch and Colm O'Driscoll from afar.
Story[]
Pearson met some O'Driscolls on the road who said they wanted to arrange a parley. Hosea calls it a trap, but Micah seems to think it is worth looking into, and helps convince Dutch to go. Arthur accompanies Dutch and Micah as a bodyguard to watch over the meeting from a distance. Arthur takes the high ground; Dutch and Colm meet. Dutch attempts to make amends, but it is clear that Colm is only there to sneer at Dutch and his gang. Some O'Driscolls sneak up on Arthur, knock him out, and abduct him.
Arthur is wounded, tortured and imprisoned. Colm comes to gloat over Arthur; he explains that the parley was merely a ruse to capture Arthur so that Dutch would attempt to rescue him. Colm arranged to have the law waiting to arrest the entire Van der Linde gang if Dutch did come at that moment. After this, Colm leaves. Arthur manages to escape his bonds, kills an O'Driscoll, and escapes the camp in which he was held. He returns to Clemens Point on horseback and collapses. He is then found by Mary-Beth, Karen and Dutch, who calls Susan and Swanson for help. Pearson also arrives and they carry Arthur to his tent. Dutch asks Susan to stay with him, which she does, telling him he's gonna be okay and that he's home. His recovery will take a few weeks, thanks to Susan and Tilly.
Gold Medal Objectives[]

- Recover your weapons from the O'Driscolls' camp.
- Kill the O'Driscoll gang members that beat and shot you.
- Escape the O'Driscolls' camp without being spotted.
Deaths[]

- Kills or abandons their horse;
- Dies.

Background Music Played in the Mission[]
- "Blessed are the Peacemakers" - Played during Arthur's capture by the O'Driscoll Boys, and during his eventual escape.
Trivia[]
- "Blessed are the Peacemakers" is a Bible verse, Matthew 5:9, also seen on the epitaph of John Marston's grave at Beecher's Hope.
- This mission is one of the only missions in the game where a character mentions its title, in this case Micah Bell, when he says "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called...".
- If the player leaves their weapons on the horse before they reach the observation point, Arthur will still carry his rifle during the cutscene.
- If Arthur did not retrieve his weapons during this mission, they will be replaced and be found on his horse after the mission.
- Pausing and then un-pausing the game during Arthur's transport by the O'Driscolls will reveal a quick prompt by the game to either break free or give up.
- If the player manages to escape the O'Driscolls on foot instead of on a horse, Arthur will collapse, and there will be a unique cutscene where he wakes up and sees his horse standing over him, before telling it to get him home. After this, the usual cutscene of Arthur riding back to camp exhausted on his horse will be shown.
- After completing this mission, Arthur's hair and beard will have grown much longer than their usual length (with the hair being at about level 7 growth and the beard at about level 5 growth). This is likely due to the several week gap between Arthur's return to camp and the scene where Swanson speaks to him. The player can shave Arthur's beard at camp, but will need to visit a barber if they want to get his hair back to how long it was before starting the mission.
- It is possible for Arthur's horse to be struck and killed by the train. This will not fail the mission, but his horse will not respawn and will be replaced by a standard Tennessee Walker after the mission.
- It is possible to save the mask from this mission by using a glitch.[1]
- After completing this mission (if all other missions have been completed) Dutch will talk to Arthur at camp about what transpired after Arthur was knocked out and captured by the O'Driscolls, or (if all missions have not been completed) Micah will tell Arthur what happened.
- At the end of the mission, the player will experience their first honor-related vision. They can envision a deer if they have high honor or a coyote for low honor.
